Sarah Greeven
My research interest lies in exploring the relationship between physical activity, nutrition, and child obesity. Poor healthy behaviors during childhood have become a major public health issue worldwide, with significant implications for physical and mental health. Through my research, I am to identify the most effective strategies to encourage physical activity and healthy eating habits in children, particularly those at high risk. I am interested in studying the role of young adult mentors in a school environment and community-based intervention in promoting sustainable health behaviors into adulthood.
Playing women's water polo at the collegiate level for Indiana University has given me a sense of confidence and empowerment. As a female athlete, I have learned to push myself beyond my limits, both physically and mentally. Through this sport, I have developed important skills, values, and perspectives that have helped me to grow and thrive both on and off the playing field.
